Historic Vermont Inn Becomes Affordable Coliving Workforce Housing

Booking opens December 1 for the 2026/27 winter season

The historic Three Mountain Inn, a Jamaica landmark that has welcomed travelers since circa 1793, is being reimagined under new ownership as affordable coliving housing for southern Vermont’s local, seasonal, and remote workers.

Across Windham County, market rents have climbed well past what many local workers can afford, and much of the existing housing stock has shifted toward short-term rentals. Three Mountain Inn takes the opposite approach: furnished, pet-friendly rooms with all utilities and dedicated high-speed internet included, priced at a steep discount to short-term rental rates and benchmarked to what local workers actually earn.

Rooms are offered on a minimum 28-night stay, starting at $916 per 28 nights, with no security deposit and no credit check required. Residents share a large kitchen and family room, coin-op laundry, a patio, grill, and pavilion.

Interest has been building well ahead of the official launch, with early inquiries already coming in for several of the property’s rooms.

Timeline

“This is an excellent affordable option for travelers and locals alike. Housing people who are working here, whether that’s locally, seasonally, or remotely, creates a real sense of community that Vermont needs to hold on to.”

— Spokesperson, Three Mountain Inn

Community and Dining

Residents are invited to join the Golden Triangle Ski Club, named for Stratton, Bromley, and Magic, with carpools to the hill, Sunday dinners, and powder-day outings. Ownership is also exploring bringing the inn’s dormant ground-floor dining room back online and is open to conversations with interested local partners.

Rooms and Staff Housing

Nine rooms are offered to start, available first come, first served, with availability expected to move quickly. Local business owners seeking to house seasonal employees are encouraged to send a note through any room’s booking page.
